Call for Young Artists to Participate in Creative Campus

This is a call to participate in the creation of a site-specific installation/performance work for a multi-media centre in Sound Dublin County. Selected participants will work collaboratively in inter-disciplinary groups and will receive support from three professional artists who specialise in using electronic and computing technologies creatively.

This opportunity is open to all young artists aged between 18-25 who are either:

·       Enrolled in higher arts education.

·       In the early stages of their professional careers.

·       Hobbyists who have not received any formal arts training but have a demonstrable passion for using new technologies creativity.

We seek participants from all creative fields (e.g. visual arts, graphic design, film, music, dance, photography, architecture and creative writing/poetry). Furthermore, it is our hope that some of the applicants who have not been formally educated as artists may have received comparative training in subjects such as computer programming and web development. However, please note that in order to eligible to participate no particular qualifications are necessary.

Participants can expect support and training upon software such as: Adobe Flash, Final Cut Pro, Ableton Live, Processing, Max/MSP and VJ packages (e.g. Arkaos GrandVJ). Additionally, each contributor can expect to gain experience of using within the production of a large-scale art piece equipment such as: video cameras, audio hardware, mobile devices, touch screens, multi-screen displays, hi-def projectors, sensor technologies etc.
