Tallaght Community Arts is delighted to announce the launch of:
ACT UP 2011
ACT UP is a one act theatre festival bringing together young theatre talent in the wider Tallaght Area. Ten secondary schools have been invited to take part in ACT UP 2011. Each school will choose one play from our selection and rehearse it over the next coming months. Act Up Theatre festival will be held at the end of March 2011.
Over the next coming months each school will receive monthly workshop from an ACT UP mentor beginning October 2010. Our workshops will support and guide each school in their preparation, rehearsal and production process.
During the festival each play will be adjudicated individually and at the end of the festival week, awards will be presented to the winners in the following categories:
Best Supporting male actor
Best Supporting female actor
Best Male Actor
Best Female Actor
Best Director
Best Stage Management
Best Effects (including sound)
Best Overall Production
The fee to take part in ACT UP 2011 is €80. This fee covers your monthly workshops, one copy of your chosen script and the performance rights of your play during the festival.
