Tallaght Community Arts, present From There To Here, an exhibition of original photographic works by Irish born Photographer Elizabeth McCallum.
Artist: Elizabeth McCallum
On graduating from Dun Laoighaire School of Arts & Design 1980 – 1982 Elizabeth continued with post graduate studies with Carr Communications 1983 and then went on to work as a freelance photographer. Elizabeth also worked as a pavement artist, muralist and street entertainer which led to her interest in street photography. Elizabeth is a published cartoonist, illustrator and photographer, and has had her work published in many national and community based publications.
From There To Here Many of the photos feature the new urban landscape which has developed between the Civic Theatre, the new Tallaght Library building, and most recently, Rua Red, South Dublin Arts Centre itself.
Elizabeth is fascinated by people are moving around the area on a daily basis and how local people are using this new civic space. Her work continues to explore this in collaboration with different subject groups. This is an evolving project. The exhibition is only one element of a much broader approach.
The exhibition will be launched on Saturday 20th March at 3pm by Tallaght Community Arts at RUA RED, Tallaght and will be opened by County Architect, Eddie Conroy
The exhibition runs daily Monday to Saturday until 1st April 2010 and can be viewed between
10am and 6 pm.
