FROM THE PAGE TO THE STAGE
This new six week course introduces writers to the art of creating theatre from the page to the stage. The course explores finding inspiration and ideas, the role of conflict & story structure, creating characters & dialogue and the craft of editing your work for performance. Writers will be asked to create a short scene which will be read by professional actors to an invited audience at the end of the course.

Tutor Biography: Tutor, Tracy Ryan is the founder of Studio 3 Arts in East London and Associate Director of Angels Theatre Company (1997 - 2002) and The Work Theatre Collective (2002 - 2007). She has worked in America at the San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs and as Guest Artistic Director at the Ashland New Plays Festival, Oregon. She is currently undertaking her MA in Drama and Performance Studies at UCD, Dublin.
Tracy’s directing includes: Cracked Eggs (The New Theatre, Dublin) Animal Farm (Il Pachetto Stage Tour, Italy) The Longest Road to Freedom (Albany Theatre, NT Education), The Gate Escape (Westminster Studios), Untold Stories (National Trust England). As an actor recent TV, Film and Theatre includes: Mike Leigh’s Vera Drake and All or Nothing, Truth About Love, In a Day, The Bill, The Quatermass Experiment, Murder City, as well as others.
Tracy’s writing credits include: Cracked Eggs (The New Theatre, Dublin), At Our Boldest (reading at the Bush Theatre), Trembling in Heaven (Etcetera Theatre) and Gangster (Old Red Lion).
