September 19th & 20th Sustainable Futures
Radio Tallaght returns to our airwaves on September 19th & 20th with an eclectic and vibrant mix of programmes exploring the ides of Sustainable Futures. Radio Tallaght will broadcast live on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September from 11am to 6pm.
Radio Tallaght Sustainable Futures is a weekend of conversation, music, debate and spoken word that examines, questions and celebrates our environment. Sustainable Futures will look at sustainable development and the environment from a local and global perspective.
Radio Tallaght’s programmes will exchange personal stories about how we relate to our environment, exchange ideas and information on protecting our environment’s future and diversity, and discuss how we can build a more sustainable future together.
Radio Tallaght broadcasts from the new South Dublin Arts Centre and features programmes created and presented by people from the many diverse communities of Tallaght, many sitting behind a microphone for the first time.

Radio Tallaght is a community art project with Tallaght Community Arts in partnership with Tallaght Radio Forum. Radio Tallaght broadcasts for six weekends throughout 2009. Radio Tallaght is now mid way through their programming year, and has successfully completed three weekend broadcasts.

TAD (Teenagers about Discussion) tease out the differences between experimental and conventional music.

A cross cultural panel debate exchanging ideas about the environment and the way in which diverse cultures are addressing this issue. Presented by Izabela Barber.

Irish Music On Irish Radio: A look at the sustainability of Irish Music and the Irish Music Industry. Irish music, from contemporary to traditional, is a unique, creative entity and is known and revered the world over. In this programme Michael Lemass interviews the children of St Anne’s school in Fettercairn who have been growing their own vegetable garden for a Feast celebration which will take place this September.
