Facilitated by Tallaght Community Arts (TCA) in RUA RED South Dublin Arts Centre, CRIPPLING IMAGES is a visual art exhibition (May 19-29), featuring work by South Dublin Arts & Disabilities Training Programme Graduates, which aims to look at society’s views, opinions, conceptions and misconceptions about people with disabilities.
‘Crippling Images’ visual art exhibition comprises a slide show of images and a series of 13 individual responses crafted using mixed media, each presenting a common theme and visual image of disability. Raising awareness of positive and negative aspects of disability, and personal/political issues surround disability, ‘Crippling Images’ challenges the viewer to effect change….to cause even one person to stop and think.
