The first weekend broadcast (January 17-18 2009) by Radio Tallaght, a community radio station brought to you by Tallaght Community Arts (TCA) and Tallaght Radio Forum, was a huge success. Approx 30 first-time presenters interviewed, chatted with, and featured more than 60 guests over the two days of broadcasting from Rua Red South Dublin Arts Centre, the first such event to take place in the new arts centre.
The incredible success of Radio Tallaght’s first weekend would not have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone involved, and we would like to thank each and every person for their wonderful contribution leading up to and over the first weekend of broadcasting.
We would also like to thank our funders and supporters – The Arts Council, South Dublin County Council, Tallaght Partnership and Tallaght Youth Service – and our media partner The Tallaght Echo - without whom this project would not be possible.
Radio Tallaght will broadcast from the new South Dublin Arts Centre over five more weekends in 2009 and will feature programmes created and presented by people from the many diverse communities of Tallaght, many sitting behind a microphone for the first time.
Radio Tallaght will broadcast on 99.1FM, from 11am to 6pm, on the following dates:
March 21 and 22 (next broadcast)
June 20 and 21
September 19 and 20
October 17 and 18
December 19 and 20
